Florence Lizares Duarte, 87, of Kapaa passed away at home on August 11, 2018. She was born in Haiku, Maui on January 3, 1931 and retired as a store manager with Tony’s Mini Mart.
Preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wallace Duarte; parents, Vicente and Theodora Lizares; brothers, Pedro Lizares, Benjamin “Ben” Lizares, Phillip Lizares, Charles “Charlie” Lizares; sisters, Clara Cubero, Helen Rumbaoa, Lillian Traya, Grace Marie Glory, Irene Ruth Renio, Leonora Lizares, Leonara “Judy” Lovelace, Christine “Chris” Ramsay, Rosaline “Rosie” Amis, Genevieve “Sue” Hamada, Theodora “Ronnie” Lagon.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline (Alfredo Jr.) Garces, Cheryl (Scott) Brede; 4 grandchildren, Kristy Arruda, Angela (Billy) Farias, Curran (Gabrielle) Doctolero, Courtney Brede; 10 great-grandchildren, Shelcee Camat, Gordon “Koni” Camat III, Jhaiston Lumacad, Brayden (Dayna) Farias, Breena Farias, Brevin Farias, Micah Doctolero, Waika Doctolero, Anela Doctolero, Ikaika Doctolero; 4 great-great grandchildren, Kanoa Farias, Javen Camat, Lilly Fabro, Brenten Farias; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at St. Catherine’s Church with viewing from 9:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
