MABEL KAILIPUNAKEA KALILOA TIMMERMAN of Lihue passed away on November 30, 2018 at the age of 86. She was born on July 24, 1932 in Kapaia, Kaua'i and graduated from Kaua'i High School in 1950. She worked in the hotel industry for 36 years and retired from the Kaua'i County — Kapa'a Neighborhood center after 13 and one-half years.
Mabel was preceded in death by her Father William Kealoha Kaliloa, Mother Lily Kauha'aha'a Kaliloa, Sisters Angeline K. Kaliloa, Katherine L. Kaliloa, Lillian K. Durant, Rosebella M.K. Kaliloa, Pricilla K. Kaliloa, Brothers John K. Kaliloa, William K. Kaliloa, Jr. and Charles K. Kaliloa. She is survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins and great/grand nephews and nieces.
Her caring and loving Ohana who Malama their Aunty Mabel during her recent past until her peaceful departure were Steven & Elizabeth Kealoha, Kanani Holt, Ora Kawamura & Kerry Nuivo and Christobel "Kaliko" Kealoha. Although she did not have any children of her own, she nurtured her nieces and nephews and friends whenever they needed help. She will always be remembered for her friendly smile and warmest Aloha. The Family would also like to recognize and thank the Kauai Hosoice Staff who provided excellent and comforting care during the last month of Mabel's life.
Services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia on Saturday, December 29, 2018. Visitation at 8:00 a.m. with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Please come and celebrate in memory of her life. Aloha attire. Light refreshments will be served. Private burial to follow.
