Masami “Pops” Kawada, 93, of Wailua passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on January 23, 2019. He was born in Lihue on June 18, 1925 and retired from Kauai Commercial as a Truck Driver.
Preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kawada, son, Randall Kawada.
Masami is survived by his daughter, Cathy “Sachiko” (Ichiro) Nakamoto of Japan; sons, Clayton (Aurora Ann) Kawada of Lihue, Wilbert (Sun-U) Kawada of Oahu; 2 grandchildren, Arron and Andrew Kawada; 2 great-grandchildren, Adin and Andrew Kawada; sister, Sumi Yamauchi and Sue Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. and services celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m.
