Charles Yoshio “Bull” Kusaka
Charles Yoshio “Bull” Kusaka passed away at home on December 13, 2020 at the age of 92. He was born near Iron Bridge Wailua on February 26, 1928. He retired from H. Tanaka Plumbing Kapaa in 1988, after working for 46 years as a Master Plumber with the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, Local No. 675. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by parents Robert and Masaji (Sasaki) Kusaka; brother Yukitoshi “Boogie” Kusaka; brother-in-law Akira Teramoto; brother-in-law Gerry Kikuta; and nephews Lester Teramoto and Dwayne Kusaka.
He is survived by wife Maryanne W. (Pinho) Kusaka; son Charles H. “Kale” Forward III; sister Helen Teramoto; sister Katherine (Lamont) Shadowens; sister Dorothy Kikuta; sister Chieko (Harry) Ehara; brother Henry (Lynn) Kusaka; and sister-in-law Fely Kusaka. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Dennis (Susanne) Teramoto, Leah Shadowens, Tina Shadowens, Russell (Debbie) Kikuta, Gail (James) Kaeka, Norine Kusaka, Royden (Weena) Kusaka, Eydie (Michael) Miskel, Melanie Ehara, Cheryl Ehara and Kendall Kusaka.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
