Constance "Connie" Kakalia Obituary
Constance “Connie” Kakalia, of Kapaa, passed away on December 1, 2025 at the age of 70. She was born in Indiana on September 10, 1955 and was a dedicated 2nd grade teacher at Island School for over 35 years.
She was preceded in passing by her parents Andrew and Phyllis Kandis.
Connie is survived by her loving husband David Gregson, children Lokahi (Justin) Vernon of Portland, OR, Andrew (Kelly) Kakalia of Wailua, Liana (Troy) Furugen of Kapaa, grandchildren Kiana Vernon, Cliffy Kakalia, Kaleo Vernon, Eli Kakalia, Makani Furugen, Auli’i Kakalia, Iliana Furugen, Tekoa Kakalia, sister Carol Roeder of Ohio, and the loving Kakalia family.
Her legacy lives on in her family, her students, and the community she served so faithfully. Held in the grace of our Lord Jesus, she is truly home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
