Dustin Leach Obituary

Dustin Gregory Leach “Bubba” passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from complications from an E. Coli infection. Dustin was born May 1, 1978 in Danville, IL. He relocated to Hawaii with his family at age 9.

Dustin was a co-owner of his family’s business, Beltone Hearing Aid Center in Lihue for over 20 years, where he was a licensed hearing aid specialist. He was also owner of Kauai Hearing Conservation, where he provided OSHA mandated hearing testing for local and national companies.

Bubba was perhaps best known for being owner of Kauai Livestock Services, where he could pursue his life’s passion of cattle ranching and being a cattle broker. He served for a short time as Vice President of the Kauai Cattleman’s Association.

He enjoyed local rodeos and spending time with family, friends, and riding his horses. He also enjoyed fishing and boating. Many will fondly remember his love of cooking for others. Bubba was an integral part of annual ski trips with his antics and quick wit, always bringing constant laughs.

Known for his witty sense of humor, generosity, and honest, hard working nature, he earned an admirable reputation with all.

Dustin “Bubba” is survived by his parents, Gregory and Lora Leach of Hilo, his sister, Amber Leach of Kapa’a, his longtime companion, Justine Salvador of Kapa’a, and many Uncles, Aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Marilyn Leach of Nashville, TN and Bob and Brenda Fitzsimmons of Vero Beach, FL.

At Bubba’s request, no services will be held however, a Celebration of Life will be held in Kauai at a later date to be announced. He requested a “party style” celebration of life to include music, food, drink and sharing of memories.

To our beloved and cherished, Dustin “Bubba” who was a son, brother, nephew, and friend-you were deeply loved and there will be a void in our lives. You will be missed every day.

A hui hou, beloved Cowboy. And this is where the cowboy rides away.
