Emily Barretto Obituary
Emily R. Barretto, 94 of Kapaa passed away at Kauai Care Center on December 11, 2021. She was born in New Mill on April 12, 1927 and was a dedicated homemaker and known as the pastele and gandule rice lady.
Preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Carlota Rivera; husband, Frank F. Barretto Sr., son, Dennis Barretto; grandson, Travis Barretto and granddaughter, Lani Lynn Barretto.
Emily is survived by her seven children, Frank F. (Liz) Barretto, Ronald Barretto Sr., Roy (Brenda) Barretto, Alberta (Steven) Pimental Sr., Sharleen Ornellas, Alison Sanchez and Judy (John) Vegas; sister, Margret Toleroc of Oahu; 22 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at St. Catherine Church with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kealia Cemetery.
