Our beloved son and brother, Eric Laamaikahiki Kealii Larsen, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025 at Wilcox Memorial Center (Kauai). He was born on May 16, 1962 at Kapiolani Hospital (Honolulu). He was 63 years old.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter W. Larsen Jr.; paternal grandparents, Walter W. Larsen Sr. and Margaret Forsythe Larsen; maternal grandparents, Alfred A. Espinda Sr. and Thelma Kamala “Sookie” Ahuna Espinda.
He is survived by his mother, Kaleinani “Nani” Larsen; brother, Greg Kekoa (Coleen) Larsen; three nephews, Justin Nainoa Larsen, Jacob Makana Larsen and Christian Kainalu Larsen; aunty, Mrs. Momi (Emil) Wolfgramm on Maui; uncles, Ron (Mary Pat) Larsen of Honolulu and Herb Espinda of Minnesota. All his ohana, cousins and good friends that he cherished too.
Eric graduated from Punahou School, Class of 1980. He attended the University of Washington, and achieved his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He worked at the Lihue Library and received from The Friends of the Library the 2023 Excellence in service award, given in recognition of his exemplary service to the people of Hawaii.
He recently retired from the Lihue Library and was embarking on a new journey of Fun and Fitness and Community Service. He was a caring and loving son, a compassionate soul with a helpful spirit. He enjoyed telling funny stories and sharing his experiences with others.
We shall miss his playfulness, his kindness and his warm and friendly smile.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Eric on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Parish Hall of the Lihue United Church, 4340 Nawiliwili Rd, Lihue. Welcome and Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with remembrances and reflections at 11:00 AM. The event will finish at 2:00 PM. A private inurnment will be held later.
