Flora Campos Kahaunaele of Kapaa, born on August 17, 1931, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 at the age of 93. She attended McKinley High School, later graduated from Kapaa High School. She worked for Coco Palms and retired after Hurricane Iniki. She was an avid fan watching her family play baseball, never missing a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines. Flora enjoyed spending time playing cards with friends, traveling to Las Vegas and she was an enthusiastic bowler at Kauai Bowl. Flora was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunty and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Flora was preceded in death by her devoted companion Paul Miyamoto, the father of her children Joseph Kahaunaele Sr., Mother Consuelo Apiado, Father Francisco Campos, son Alan Kahaunaele, brother Felix Campos, Sisters Dalmacia Campos Sibolboro and Rosenda Ancheta. Two great grandchildren, Chloe and Tayton.
Her legacy lives on through her surviving children, daughters Pamela Domingo (Sonny), Corina Kimura (Karl), sons Joseph Kahaunaele Jr, and Jonathon Kahaunaele (Sharleen), Hanai daughter Gloria Sibolboro. Grandchildren Chasitee Kimura (Shannon Masada), Karl “KK” Kimura, Kori Moniz (Weston), Kaohi Kahaunaele-Contrades, Shasteen Kahaunaele (Devin Marquez), Alan Kahaunaele and Tiffany Suliven (Makaio Kaaumoana). 11 great grandchildren who brought her much joy and love. Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Flora’s life was defined by her deep love for family, unwavering strength, and selflessness. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, and her memory will forever be held close in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
