Gary Ernest Venturini of Kapaa passed away on April 27, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born in Santa Cruz, California on February 1, 1947. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School in 1964, and was a well-known Santa Cruz surfer all thru the 60’s.
Gary was an avid softball player both in Southern California and on Kauai, and was passionate about collecting arrowheads, as well as helping create a device to locate buried antique glass bottles, which he then proudly dug up and saved. He was also a devout sports fan, and loved cheering on his favorite teams, the San Francisco 49rs, and the SF Giants, as well as the Golden State Warriors. He worked most of his life as a commercial insulator for the Carpenter’s Union.
He is preceded in passing by his parents.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Janet Venturini of Kapaa; son Jody Venturini of Arizona; daughter, Julie (John) Landes of Arizona, and his sister Karen Levy of California; as well as three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren in Pinetop, Arizona; and also a niece in California.
Kauai Memorial Gardens assisted the family with arrangements.
