It is with great love and respect, we announce the passing of Glenn Dennis Carvalho, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Glenn passed peacefully surrounded by family on January 7, 2026 at the age of 76. Born in Kauai on October 7, 1949, Glenn lived a life filled with love, family, and service to his country and his community. A proud member of the Navy, Glenn served in the Vietnam War, where during his time of service he met the love of his life, Ruth E. Godinet.
Glenn and Ruth, married for 53 years, lived in Wailua where he proudly built his legacy. Glenn retired after working 46 years as a carpenter, becoming a part of both the Blackwell and Law families’ construction companies. He was responsible for construction that can be seen all around the island.
He was preceded in passing by his parents Manuel S. and Georgina S. Carvalho, brothers Stanley Carvalho, Bernard Carvalho Sr., and grandson Ryan Joel.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Ruth E. Carvalho, daughters Shantell (Faaolataga) Carvalho-Toloai, Cian (Heather) Carvalho, Lainee (George) Carvalho Guillen, grandchildren Shandyn Pahia, Austyne Carvalho Toloai, Analeigha Carvalho Toloai, Dave Joel, Chance Carvalho, Ce’Lei Carvalho, Kaylee Latasa-Guillen, Carys Carvalho, Trinity Guillen, Jocelynn Latasa-Guillen, Briggs, Brynn, Braelyn, great-grandchildren Ayden Lucus, Reign, sisters Yvonne Camat, Beverly (Norman Sr.) Holt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapaa; visitation at 9:30 am, mass at 11am, and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
