Josephine Edica Yadao Asuncion, 84, of Kilauea passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on March 9, 2021. She was born in Hanalei, Kauai on November 13, 1936 and retired from Princeville Hotel as a bartender.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, Vernon “Cris” Asuncion; parents, Timoteo & Eutropia Yadao; brothers, Bernard, Jose, Raymond & Joseph “Juny” Yadao; sisters, Maria Cabungan, Esmenia “Essie” Belmonte, Christina “Katy” Constantino.
Josephine is survived by her children, Timothy “Timmy” (Patrice) Asuncion, Nadine (Robin) Robinson, Cisco (Tom) Peru, Magdalena “Cookie” Peru, Leslie (Evajoy) Peru, Marian “Hue” Regidor, Cristine Asuncion, Leonard (Theresa) Asuncion, Joanne Asuncion, Jade (Larry) Rosa; sister, Francis Bilog; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and sisters-in-law.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Kauai Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with viewing from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
A Mass will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at St. Sylvester Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kilauea Japanese Cemetery.
