Kaname Kataoka Obituary
Kaname “Bob” Kataoka, 101, of Kapaa passed away at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on December 28, 2019. He was born in Paia, Maui on October 21, 1918 and retired as a teacher at Kauai High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mitsue Y. Kataoka; brothers, Isamu Kataoka, Masao Kataoka and sister, Tsuruko Yamato.
Kaname is survived by his daughters, Joy (Jim Patton) Kataoka and Amy Boyd; granddaughter, Kimi Patton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Kaname and Mitsue’s lives will be held on March 14, 2020 at Lihue Christian Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM with services to follow at 10:00 AM.
