Marian Aki Delapenia, 83, of Lihue passed away on March 16, 2026. She was born in Anahola on January 12, 1943 and retired as head custodian from King Kaumualii Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Delapenia; parents, Miller Aki and Mary Ann Lovell Aki, brothers, Fred Aki Sr., William Aki Sr. and Alfred Aki Sr.
Marian is survived by her children, Valerie (Andrew) Winchester, Mark (Mandie) Delapenia, Les (Kelly) Delapenia, Michele (Derek) Borrero; grandchildren, Kalani (Emily) Delapenia, Chelyssa Delapenia, Kaimana Delapenia, Mariah Delapenia, Madison Delapenia, Andrew (Casey) Delapenia, Amber Blocker, Bri (Jessica) Borrero Contrades, Britney (Makana) Rivera, Braylee Borrero; great-grandchildren, Kaleohano Rivera, Lilinoe Rivera, Addison & Emmaline Blocker and Peyton, Micah & Avery Delapenia; siblings, Richard (Priscilla) Aki, Melvin (Sandra) Aki, George (Joyce) Aki; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens at 11:15.
