Marina B. Balagat, 93, of Hanamaulu, Kauai passed away on June 28, 2022 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. She was born in Dingras, Philippines on Nov. 29, 1928 and retired as a Cook from Tip-Top Café.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Apolonio & Gaudencia Ballesteros; husband, Guillermo Balagat Sr.; son, Guillermo Balagat Jr.; brothers, Aquilino and Elpedio Ballesteros.
Marina is survived by her daughter, Grace (Henry) Hee of Hanamaulu; sons, Ceny (Josephine) Balagat of Killeen, TX and George Balagat of Hanamaulu; sisters, Estella Rocapor of Dingras, Philippines, Josefina Alegre of Dingras, Philippines, Rosalia Butal of Mindanao, Philippines; grandchildren, Josef (Kelsey Green) Hee of Havelock, NC, Jacob Hee of Madison, WI, Zachary Hee of Havelock, NC, Royden Balagat of Killeen, TX and Abigail (Nathaniel Jr.) Moses of German Town, TN, Garren (Dawnie) Leanio-Balagat of Lihue, Darren Leanio-Balagat of Anahola, Kekai (Ramsey Tacadena) Leanio-Balagat of Koloa, Alexa ChongTim-Balagat and Braden ChongTim-Balagat of Hanamaulu; great-grandchildren, Ashton Balagat of Lihue, Taylan Moses, Nivea Moses and Titan Moses of German Town, TN and numerous relatives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday July 14, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, services to follow at 10:00 AM and burial will take place at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
