Misao "Mona" Higashi Obituary
Misao “Mona” Higashi passed away at home on July 16, 2025 at the age of 89. She was born in Lihue on July 23, 1935 and worked as a department manager at Foodland.
She was preceded in passing by her parents Katsutaro and Sasako (Oyeda) Katsuki, sisters Hatsuko Katsuki, Hisako “Helen” Miyake, brothers Minoru “Kelly” Katsuki and Shigeo Katsuki.
Mona is survived by her husband Richard Kenji Higashi, daughters Wendy (Harold) Vidinha, Marla (Milton-deceased) Oshiro, grandchildren Trisha Ching, Tiffany (Jo-Ann) Ching-Castillo, Michael (Laura) Oshiro, Kimberly-Ann Vidinha, great-grandchildren Amber-Rae Rayray, Destiney-Lee Rayray, and Greg Rayray Jr., and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A private service was held by the family. The family requests no koden.
