Penny Lee (Morris) Thompson was born April 24th, 1943 in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents Jessie Morris and Minnie Worlick. She died March 25th, 2021 from complications of a long-term illness. She attended Tech High School and excelled as a vocalist, becoming a two-time selectee to the Fort Worth All-City Chorus. She volunteered as a nursing assistant at John Peter Smith Hospital. She studied Business Administration at the University of Nebraska which she later used as an accountant before finding a department manager position at the Safeway Grocery Store chain, where she was employed for over 20 years. She worked at Equifax, inc., for ten years as a Medical Report Analyst before retiring in 1998. She met her husband of 43 years, Tommy, in Dallas in May 1977; they were married June 8th, 1978, and lived in Richardson, TX until 1998, when they moved to Kaua’i and retired in Princeville. They had started visiting the Islands in on their 40th birthday in 1983, came every year, before realizing their retirement dream that August of 1998. Both were involved in many local social activities, especially golf, dining and animal service participation. Penny never met a critter she didn’t like, except for snakes (Good she live Hawai’i) and centipedes.

She joins her dogs Tug and Maggie, cats Linus and Lucy, in the afterlife, and is survived by her husband Tommy and Suzy Q. Chihuahua. She will be interred with her husband at the United States Military Academy, West Point Cemetery after his passing.
