Richard Kuga Obituary
Local Kauai piers will be missing long-time fisherman Richard Kuga (January 10, 1936 - June 6, 2026). Besides being an avid fisherman, Richard's other talents included singing tenor for civic light opera performances at the Honolulu Community Theater. He also had several bit parts for the original Hawaii Five-O TV series. In local circles, he was also known as the "Mango Guy" who shared his tree’s bounty with lucky friends. His favorite travel destination was Japan. Richard was also the lead coordinator for the Kauai In STEP science show productions. His siblings are Lea Aragaki, Martha Watanabe, Jim Kuga, and Ron Kuga. A Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be at the Puakea Grill, Richard’s favorite dining spot.
