Shizue “Sue” Sakihama of Kapaa passed away on March 18, 2024 at the age of 101. She was born on October 3, 1922 in Kealia, Kauai, Hawaii and retired from Samuel Mahelona Hospital.
She is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Sam Sakihama; her daughter, Masako Sakihama; her parents Matsu and Mito Wakuta; and her siblings, Mamoru Wakuta, Hideo Wakuta, Kiyoko Miyasato, and Masa Nakasone.
Sue is survived by her sons, Thomas Sakihama of Las Vegas, Kenneth (Janice) Sakihama of Honolulu, and David (Tanya) Sakihama of Kapaa; her brother, Sei (June) Wakuta of Torrence, California; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 27, 2024 at the Jodo Mission in Kapaa with visitation starting at 10 am and the service beginning at 10:30 am. The family requests no koden.
