Takeko Yamane Obituary
Takeko “T” Yamane, of Kapaa, passed away on January 6, 2026 at the age of 98. She was born on Kauai on June 29, 1927 and was a librarian at the Kapaa Public Library for over 30 years.
She was preceded in passing by her husband Teiichi Yamane.
Takeko is survived by her daughters Celia (Andrew) Kawabata of Hilo, HI, Julie (Will-deceased) Yamane of Eugene, OR, Amy (Joel) Postma of University Place, WA, Elaine (Dave) Frey of Lake Oswego, OR, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at Kapaa United Church of Christ, 1315 Ulu St. Kapaa on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Visitation at 10:30 am and services beginning at 11:00 am. Family requests no Koden.
