Taniela Vai Olive Koli, 87, passed away on December 28, 2025 at home. He was born in Tonga on August 11, 1938 and was a Fisherman and Farmer for his family business.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Heamasi & Emeline Masaniai – Koli; son, Maikolo Koli; sisters, Lealofi, Soana & Ana Tauaika; brothers, Paea, Mavae and Satekitau Koli.
Taniela is survived by his loving wife Lepeka Koli; sons, Siosaia (Angelina) Koli, Tevita (Ana) Koli, Tumua (Faleaka) Masaniai, Tuingafue (Tomime) Koli and Sekitofa (Mele) Koli; daughters, Ilaisaane (Ofa) Blake, Maliana (Finau) Taufalele, Iolani (Siale) Eliesa and Carol (SamKing) Braima; brothers, Mosese, Moleni, Mosa and Faalata Koli; sisters, Moeaki Tangitau, Kasa Taukalau and Losaline; 50 grandchildren, 51great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday January 17, 2026 at the Lihue United Church. Visitation will begin at 7:00 AM, services at 12:00PM with burial to follow at1:45 PM at the Keapana-Kealia Cemetery.
