Terry Onishi Obituary
Terry Mitsuo “Butchie” Onishi, of Lihue, passed away on November 4, 2025 at the age of 73. He was born in Lihue on September 17, 1952 and worked as a grocery clerk at Foodland.
He was preceded in death by his father Motomu “Rattle” Onishi and sister Carol Yamamoto.
Butchie is survived by Candace Onishi, his children Gavin Onishi of Kalaheo, daughter Jenise (Ronson) Matsuo of Kapaa, Anson (Sam) Onishi of Nashville, TN, grandchildren Jasci (Jacob) Onishi and Kaiah Mahuka, mother Gladys “Tweet” Onishi, brother Warren Onishi, sister Jerilyn (Dennis) Fukushima, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2026 at the Niumalu Beach Park Pavilion. Service will start at 11am with lunch to follow.
