Vernon Souza Sr. Obituary
Vernon Joseph Souza Sr passed away on July 23, 2025 at the age of 82. He was born on August 24, 1942 in Kilauea and worked as a heavy equipment operator with the Local “ “ Union.
He was preceded in passing by his parents Joseph and Agnes Souza, 1st wife Patricia Souza, sons Joseph Souza and Vernon Souza Jr., daughter Patty Ann Souza, and grandson Ashton Souza.
Vernon is survived by his wife Charlette Souza, children Roxanne (Jon) Reis, Vanassa Souza, step-children Shanoa (Jonathan) Law, Brandi Caberto, Ian Caberto, siblings Gwendolyn (George) Tanoue, Charlene Bukoski, Gerald Souza, grandchildren Ashley Souza, Kevin (Shaylee) Reis, Brandon (Shaynee) Reis, Jon Reis, Janelle (Trent) Allianic, Bailey Souza, Shea Souza, Leijah Kaluahine, Zaijah Kaluahine, Taejah Kaluahine, Elijah Kaluahine, Aijah Caberto, Jordyn Law, Kendra Law, Kellan “Ikaika” Law, Mavan Caberto, Xyan Caberto, Luella Kai Caberto, great grandchildren Auston Souza, Kailea Reis, Keahi Tupou, Braxon Reis, Tessa Reis, Jon Jon Reis, Ihilani Reis, and various other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will take place on August 9, 2025 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church with visitation starting at 8:00 AM, funeral mass at 10:00 AM and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
