William R. Freitas, 94, of Kilauea passed away at home on December 26, 2022. He was born in Kilauea on December 30, 1927 and served three years in the Army Military Police after which he worked as a mechanic at Kilauea Plantation and then later on retired from Princeville Corporation.
He is preceded in passing by his parents, Manuel and Mary Freitas; his brothers, Jacinth, Joseph, Walter, Manuel Jr., and Patrick Freitas; his sisters, Josephine Guilermo, Caroline Feiteia, Hilda Camara, Bernice Freitas, Annabelle Hirschi, and Kathleen Poe.
William is survived by his sister, Loretta F. Boro; many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for William on Saturday January 14th at St. Sylvester’s Church in Kilauea. Visitation will begin at 8:30 AM, Mass will start at 10:00 AM, with burial to follow immediately after at Kilauea Japanese Cemetery.
