William Manantan, 84, of Lihue passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 11, 2020. He was born in Lihue, Kauai on April 20, 1936. He served in the Navy for 20 years as a Broiler Technician, Owned and Operated Lorenzo’s Taxi and retired as a Bus Driver from the County of Kauai.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo & Theresa Manantan; sisters, Juanita Moises and Lucia Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Orpha Manantan; daughters, Alicia (Everett Sr.) Robledo of California, Theresa Manantan-Phillips of Texas, Pualani Manantan Foster of Kauai; sons, Steven Manantan of Kauai and William (Sherina Rodero-Workman) Manantan Jr. of Kauai; sisters, Dora Jane Rowell of Minnesota and Pacita (Carlton) Joyce of Maine; grandchildren, Kalani and Everett Robledo Jr., Malia Foster, Maleyna, Kaiona and Kamaile Manantan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Lihue United Church on July 11, 2020. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM with services at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe. Face masks are required.
