Yoshio Awakuni Obituary

Yoshio Awakuni, 97, of Wailua Houselots passed away on February 10, 2021. He was born in Haiku, Maui on November 7, 1923 and retired from the County of Kauai, Department of Water.

Preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Awakuni.

Yoshio is survived by his three children, Colleen Morita, Ivy (Peter) Yagi and Russell (Jenny) Awakuni; 7 grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Higa, Riley “Kalani” Morita, Layne (Kana Sakai) Morita, Ryan Yagi, Christopher Yagi, Noelle (Kelvin) Ogata, Eron (Amanda) Awakuni; three great-grandchildren, Kai Awakuni, Max Awakuni and Hallie Awakuni; brothers, Shigeru Awakuni, Shikisei (Yoshiko) Awakuni; numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.
